Matt Hampson
Matt is a young prop forward from Leicester Tigers who suffered a serious neck injury whilst at England Under-21 training in March 2005. Matt spent 18 months recovering from his injuries at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Matt has recently returned home to continue his recovery. Matt remains on a ventilator and is paralysed from the neck down. However, he continues to show great courage. Matt was awarded the Andy Blyth Spirit Award at the 2006 PRA Rugby Players' Awards. The PRA has donated £10,000 to The Matt Hampson Trust Fund set up to aid Matt with ongoing medical costs.
