| Former Leicester Tigers and England player Matt Hampson has been donated computer equipment through the PRA to help with his charitable work.
Computacenter, the PRA’s principal business partner and title sponsors of the PRA Rugby Players’ Awards Dinner, have provided two desktop computers and a printer for Matt’s office from where the Matt Hampson Trust and the Matt Hampson website are based.
Matt, who was left paralysed after suffering a dislocation in his neck during an England U21 training session, said: ‘I’m very grateful to Computacenter for the computers and printer. Having this equipment is a massive help in running the Trust and website. They’ve already made a huge difference.’
Clare Rafferty, Events & Sponsorship Manager at Computacenter, said: ‘When the PRA told us that Matt was in need of computer equipment for his new office to help with the projects he is involved with, we were delighted to be able to help.’
The donation follows last summer’s presentation of a laptop to Matt from the PRA Benevolent Fund for him to use at home including writing a column for his local newspaper, the Leicester Mercury.
PRA Welfare Manager Alex Anderson said: ‘Matt remains a true inspiration and the PRA continues to support him in anyway we can.’
