PLAYER DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Salary: £25,000 – £34,000 plus Benefits London or Midlands
The Professional Rugby Players Association (PRA), celebrating 10 years of supporting professional rugby union players within the Guinness Premiership, is looking to expand its player development programme.
The player development programme covers four key areas, ‘Life after rugby’ – education and careers, Personal and Professional Development, Wealth Creation and Risk and Lifestyle balance.
Responsibilities include:-
- Developing relationships with and supporting professional and academy contracted players within a region containing 3 Premiership clubs
- Player Development Managers are required to work with players on a one to one basis within the framework of the programme with specific emphasis on career planning, work, education and training.
- Working with the Welfare Manager, provide retired and long term injured players with support, particularly helping players enter the workforce
- Provide players with a development plan covering the four key areas of the programme and assist players in its implementation.
- Organisation, facilitation and presentation of relevant workshops/seminars for Personal and Professional Development
- Assist the Head Player Development Manager in developing annual programmes to be delivered to players
- Work with the PRA’s business partners, external companies and education/training providersReporting
Applicants are expected to possess some of the following:-
- Experience of working within professional or elite sport environment
- Ability to relate and communicate with high performing athletes
- UK Sport Performance Lifestyle trained or equivalent
- Proven experience of career planning with adults
- Experience of outplacement and/or recruitment
- Knowledge of education courses and training providers
- Ability to present and train groups
- Self-motivated and organised.
- Prepared to work flexible hours including travel.
