Working for the welfare of our international members
The International Rugby Players’ Association was founded in 2001. It was formed to promote the views of players on an international level, offering them a collective voice.
Mission Statement:
“To improve the employment conditions of full-time professional rugby players worldwide.”
Through working with the IRB and its Member Unions, IRPA aims to insure measures are introduced to enhance:
Safety, Welfare and Employment conditions of full-time professional rugby players world-wide
IRPA believes that through the consultative process with the IRB and its Member Unions it can help the IRB in carrying out its stated objectives.
Objectives:
To promote the economic, social and employment interests of its Members
To provide the representative voice of all professional and/or international rugby players on issues of importance to the international game
To represent the interests of the members before the International Rugby Board and Rugby World Cup or any other relevant organisation
To encourage the exchange of ideas and best practice between the Members to enable them to achieve their individual objectives
